Even the smallest bit of leakage can lead to serious water damage. Tighten up those pipes. If you suspect a leak, remove everything from underneath the sink and run your water. You should be able to tell where a leak might be.

Check Your Pipes

One thing that can cause water damage is a burst pipe. While this sounds basic enough, you have to remember that you can’t always see the pipes in your home. In order to check your pipes you have to use your ears instead of your eyes. If you put your ear to the wall and hear the sound of dripping water, this means that you have a leaky pipe in your wall that can (and probably already has) caused water damage.
